Actions
Communication
The company also invests in direct communication to bring itself closer to the population and answer its main questions. It also has communications specialists who make regular visits to the communities through the Traveling Communication Centers. These are interactive spaces which serve as a meeting place for the community to answer questions on the project, the associated environmental programs and forward needs, suggestions and demands. They have become a channel through which the community can play an active role in the process.
The company also provides different informative materials on the development of the construction works and environmental actions to keep the riverside community well informed on the undertaking. At the same time, the concession holder promotes educational campaigns to promote citizenship, thereby helping to improve the quality of life. The company also has a toll-free telephone number which the population can use to obtain information: 0800 647 6162.
Historic and prehistoric assets
Another commitment has been made to the conservation of the region´s historic and prehistoric wealth. The establishment of the worksite and the creation of the reservoir were preceded by a wide archeological survey in which relics from people who lived there before the arrival of the Portuguese in Brazil were rescued and analyzed. After a final study they will be sent to institutions to be assessed by the National Historic and Artistic Assets Institute (Iphan).
