Water Table Monitoring Program
This program aims to accompany the performance of the water table in areas close to the reservoir, preventing the formation of new springs and flooded areas.
Limnology Monitoring Program
This program reviews the monitoring of the physical, chemical and biological variables which mark the quality of the water in the region of the Santo Antônio HEP. This work began before the start of the project and will continue until the operation phase.
Aquatic Large-Leaf Plant Monitoring Program
This program accompanies the development of aquatic plants to prevent possible infestations.
Climatology Monitoring Program
No significant climatic changes are expected to arise from the construction of the Santo Antônio HEP. However, meteorological stations are being set up because of the importance of collecting local data to improve the precision of the weather forecasts in the basin of the River Madeira.
Hydrosedimentolgy Monitoring Program
This program assesses in a permanent form the transport of the sediments in the River Madeira as this is fundamental for its stability and the fertility of its banks and gullies
Hydro biogeochemical Monitoring Program
This program accompanies the concentration of heavy metals, such as mercury, in the aquatic system and riverbank communities
Seismological Monitoring Program
This program aims to accompany the development of natural and induced seismological activities. The work will be carried out before, during and after the reservoir is filled.
